South Carolina Medical Team...

Tonight a medical team from South Carolina will be arriving to do disaster relief work near Huanaco and to enhance church planting efforts through medical ministry near Huancayo. Here's the latest update from our missionaries living in Huanaco about the recent landslides in the area...
Cancejos had a fairly big slide, but in a much less densely populated area, so there were less people affected. I think around 40-50 homes were destroyed, but only about 5 people died. In Ambo there is a camp where about 120 people are staying. In Ambo they've found about 30 bodies and a little over 40 are still missing. There are two or three camps set up for those who have lost their homes, but the one up above the Alianza church is the largest. There is a hospital from Lima that has a couple of trailers set up in Ambo. The Alianza church is currently serving lunch to 100 people everyday.
